Health Surveillance

TMS is able to undertake a wide range of statutory and non-statutory health surveillance. Our Occupational Physicians are Appointed Doctors under the Ionising Radiations Regulations, Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations and the Control of Lead at Work Regulations. We are also able to undertake hearing testing (audiometry) as required by the Control of Noise at Work Regulations and lung function testing (spirometry) as may be required by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations. We are happy to carry out health surveillance at customers' premises.

Case Management and Advice

Effective management of the effects of health and work requires occupational health input to identify possible underlying causes, to liaise with the NHS and make recommendations appropriate to both the individual and the organisation. TMS occupational health staff are able to work with line management and human resource personnel to assist with individuals with health problems impacting upon their work, with sickness absence management and to help develop specific rehabilitation programmes.

Drug & Alcohol Screening

TMS can advise organisations on how to establish and run a drug and alcohol policy. We work closely with an accredited laboratory and can provide pre employment, random and for-cause drug and alcohol screening. Our Occupational Physicians are experienced medical review officers who are trained to assess the significance of possible drug or alcohol misuse and can co-ordinate counselling and rehabilitation.

Work Place Assessments

An important feature of occupational health is a programme of workplace visits by occupational health staff who are then able to advise more effectively on work and health. Our staff are trained to do ergonomic surveys and advise on a range of health and safety issues in the workplace including display screen equipment (DSE) assessments.

Lifestyle Screening & Health Promotion

Lifestyle screening and health promotion in the workplace are well regarded by staff and help organisations to give positive messages about health at work. They can also improve personal health, which may have a positive impact on the business. We have experience, and can advise on, different lifestyle screening approaches and are able to develop and deliver health promotion activities related to individual organisations.

Training

TMS is able to assist organisations to assess their first aid requirements and meet statutory requirements. Our staff can deliver a range of first aid training courses designed to meet organisations' particular needs.
